LOVE LESSONS FROM GOVERNOR SANFORD'S E-MAILS TO MISTRESS
(Lemondrop.com) - Always compliment your significant other. Sanford calls Maria "special, unique and fabulous," all things anyone wants to hear. And to boot, he tells her that she doesn't need therapy, which -- we suspect -- followed Senorita Maria fishing for a compliment about how loco she is. Either way, Sanford knows how to praise his woman.
- Pet names are important. Sanford takes to calling Maria "dearest," and she later ups the ante to "beloved," telling him, "I hope you change the dearest." No one wants to be called dude or girl, but certain pet names hold different meanings. Such as, babe -- or even baby -- sounds slightly demeaning while sweetie or muffin seems... well, overly sugary. And please, don't even get us started on "pooh bear."
- Follow through on promises. Since these e-mails were from a year ago and Sanford was just discovered now, he was obviously doing something right. And, when he told Maria he was going to pick up the movie, Holiday, we're betting he actually did it. Now, whether it's the 1930's version of Holiday or the newer Cameron Diaz-Kate Winslet chick flick, The Holiday, we're not sure. However, the point remains: gifts make for a happy mistress.
- Use spell check. This man was governing the entire state of South Carolina (pop. 4.4 million) and the man can't be bothered with proper spelling? There are programs that spellcheck for you now, Gov. Sanford. We suggest you learn to use them so some poor sap at The State doesn't have to (sic) everything. (On a side note: Maria also had her share or spelling errors. However, since she is from Argentina, and -- we're assuming -- not a native English speaker, we find this less offensive. And actually, slightly adorable.)

Pitchman Billy Mays died of a pulmonary embolism
Pitchman Billy Mays died of a pulmonary embolism likely caused by heart disease, a Tampa coroner announced on Monday (June 29th). Hillsborough County Medical Examiner Vernard Adams said preliminary autopsy results found that the 50-year-old "had an enlarged heart, a thickening of the wall of the ventricle which takes blood to the heart." Contrary to speculation, Mays' death was not the result of head trauma. After a flight on Saturday (June 27th), Mays told a television crew that he'd bumped his head upon landing, leading many to assume a head injury led to his sudden death. The coroner confirmed that there was no evidence of head trauma adding that no internal or external injuries were found. The examiner also noted that Mays was also taking Tramadol and hydrocodone for hip pain, but said that there was no evidence that Mays was abusing these drugs, and that pill counts show he had been taking the correct amount. - Final results of the autopsy and cause of death will not be known for several weeks.
- A Pennsylvania television stations reported on Tuesday, "The Mays family says funeral arrangements are not complete, but they expect to plan a fitting ceremony."
- Meanwhile, the Discovery Channel announced that they will devote programming to Mays this Wednesday (July 1st). A previously-scheduled Pitchman marathon of episodes one-11 will air beginning at 11 a.m. and culminate with the never-before-seen season finale at night.

A team of medical examiners entered the home around 12 noon and exited carrying two large plastic bags. - Their action spurred more speculation about whether addictions to various prescription drugs played a role in Jackson's death, and raised more questions about the physician who was with him and made the 911 call. Dr. Conrad Murray, who insists thaat he did not prescribe OxyContin to Jackson, was working without board certification at the time of the star's death, according to EOnline.com.

- "Bobbi With An I" was co-written by Vassar.
- It's the debut single from Vassar's upcoming album, set for release later this summer.
FAST FACTS - Vassar's last album, Prayer Of A Common Man, was released in 2007.
- It features the hit, "Love Is A Beautiful Thing," which made it to Number Two on the Billboard chart last year.
Craig Morgan recently reissued his latest album, That's Why, with two newly-recorded songs -- "This Ain't Nothin'" and "Bonfire," the latter of which is currently making its way up the singles chart. Morgan wrote the song, which he has been testing out on audiences for the past few months. After getting a big thumbs up from his fans, Morgan decided to share "Bonfire" with the world. - Morgan said, "I love writing and singing about the simplest pleasures of life's little things, and the fans always react to that. I think that's why 'Bonfire' has struck such a chord with everybody. Whether you're camping, at the beach or just cooking out, bonfires lots of times are the highlights of a summer party. We're just bringing a little bit of that party to life in this song!"
FAST FACTS - That's Why also includes Morgan's Top 10 hit, "Love Remembers."
- The album was originally released in October of 2008 and then re-released in May of this year.

While many female artists are looking to follow Reba McEntire's career lead, the legendary entertainer is taking her cues from one of the youngest acts in the business -- Taylor Swift. McEntire recently told reporters at the CMA Music Festival that she admires Swift's business sensibility. "Well, I'm thrilled to be in the same business as she's in because I've learned from Taylor. She's a very smart, old soul, and she's very in tune with what's supposed to be goin' on, and she knows how to think. She's got a very great business sense, and so I like to kind of eavesdrop in on what Taylor's doin'. I always learn somethin'.
McEntire added that her husband and manager, Narvel Blackstock, often drops Swift's name when he's trying to get her to do something. "It's so funny that Narvel, back in the . . . well, a few years ago, I'll say that. If I wouldn't do somethin', if he'd come up with an idea, like lowering me from the ceiling of the Astrodome for an entrance. I said, 'I'm not gonna do that!' He walked off. He said, 'That's alright. Garth'll do it.' So now what do they say? 'Reba, would you do that?' 'No, I'm not gonna . . .' 'That's alright. Taylor'll do it.' 'Alright, I'll do it!'
McEntire and Swift are on sister labels The Valory Music Company and Big Machine Records, respectively. McEntire's first album for Valory, called Keep On Loving You, will be released on August 18th. It's official -- Julianne Hough is headed to the big screen! The singer and Dancing With The Stars champ will play the role of Ariel Moore in the remake of the 1984 movie Footloose. The film begins shooting in March, with a theater release date of sometime next year. Hough recently told us that she has always been a big fan of the movie. "It's awesome! It's so good! I mean, I was a big fan of it from the beginning, even before I'd ever heard about this, and it's funny -- my brother played Ren on the West End in London at the same time that I played Ariel in high school in Park City, so it was kind of funny. We love it
Hough will star opposite Chace Crawford, who will play Ren McCormack. Other stars reportedly considered for the role of Ariel included Miley Cyrus, Amanda Bynes, and Hayden Panettiere.
Jimmy Wayne has taken the concept of Twitter to new heights. The singer has developed what some may call a Twitter addiction, posting Tweets sometimes several times an hour, and almost every Tweet is accompanied by a picture. Wayne says he is a bit obsessed, but that he loves constantly keeping fans in the loop. "You know, instead of havin' like a MySpace page, Facebook, where you have to actually go to your computer, open up or log on, you got a phone. You can do it in real time. It's right there, and I wanna bring the fans closer in and wherever I'm at on the road. Sometimes I'm at an airport lying on the floor and I'm like, 'Oh, you gotta see this!' -- click -- and I'll send it to everybody all over the world and they can actually be with you at all times, and I think it's fun for the audience."
Wayne is in the midst of his first major tour with headliner Brad Paisley. The American Saturday Night tour plays in Clarkston, Michigan on July 10th. In the meantime, Wayne is scheduled to play a variety of fairs and festivals.
Kenny Chesney fans have the chance to win a trip for two to one of his Sun City Carnival shows. Kid Rock might get a chance to new some new material on the road this summer, when Rock heads out on a tour that begins this Friday (June 26th) in West Palm Beach, Florida. Rock revealed to Billboard.com that he has 18 to 20 songs written for his next album, and told us he's thinking about possibly giving some of them a workout onstage: ["I'm gonna have the band learn all the new stuff, so we can start playing it. Whether we decide to start playing it live on the road or when we go into the studio, you know, there's so many things you learn from going out and playing your records live. So it's gonna be nice, at least we're gonna start playing them all in soundcheck, you know, and screwing around with them every day. If nothing else, at least when we go into the studio we'll have a feel of playing these songs live
Rock will be on the road with Lynyrd Skynyrd until August 2nd, when the tour closes out in Wantagh, New York.
Two mid-July shows in his hometown of Detroit will also feature Alice In Chains. Rock is working on his next studio album with producer Rick Rubin, and hopes to begin recording either during the tour or after it's finished, with an eye on an early 2010 release. The new disc will follow up 2007's double platinum Rock N Roll Jesus, which featured the smash single "All Summer Long."

BUYING GIFTS FOR MEN

Father's Day is Sunday. Buying gifts for men is not nearly as complicated as it is for women. Follow these rules and you should have no problems. Rule #1: When in doubt, buy him a cordless drill. It does not matter if he already has one. I have a friend who owns 17 and he has yet to complain. As a man, you can never have too many cordless drills. No one knows why. Rule #2: If you cannot afford a cordless drill, buy him anything with the word ratchet or socket in it. Men love saying those two words. "Hey George, can I borrow your ratchet?" "Okay. By the way, are you through with my 3/8" socket yet?" Again, no one knows why. Rule #3: If you are really, really broke, buy him anything for his car. A 99 cent ice scraper, a small bottle of de-icer or something to hang from his rear view mirror. Men love gifts for their cars. No one knows why. Rule #4: Do not buy men socks. Do not buy men ties. And never buy men bathrobes. I was told that if God had wanted men to wear bathrobes, he would not have invented jockey shorts. Rule #5: You can buy men new remote controls to replace the ones they have worn out. If you have a lot of money, buy your man a big screen TV with the little picture in the corner. Watch him go wild as he flips and flips and flips. Forget the program, your entertainment is watching him have fun! Rule #6: Do not buy any man industrial-sized canisters of after-shave or deodorant. I'm told they do not stink-they are earthy. Rule #7: Buy men label makers. Almost as good as cordless drills. Within a couple of weeks there will be labels absolutely everywhere. "Socks. Shorts. Cups. Saucers. Door. Lock. Sink." You get the idea Again, no one knows why. Rule #8: Never buy a man anything and then tell him he should read the instructions because the box says "some assembly required." It will ruin his special day. He will always have parts left over. Rule #9: Good places to shop for men include Northwest Iron Works, Parr Lumber, Home Depot, Lowe's, John Deere, Valley RV Center and Les Schwab Tire. (NAPA Auto Parts and Sears Clearance Centers are also excellent men's stores. It doesn't matter if he doesn't know what the gift is. "From NAPA Auto, eh? Must be something I need. Hey! Isn't this a starter for a '68 Ford Fairlane? Wow! Thanks.") Rule #10: Men enjoy danger. That's why they never cook (but they will barbecue). Get him a monster barbecue with a 100-pound propane tank. Tell him the gas line leaks. "Oh the thrill! The challenge! Who wants a hamburger?" Rule #11: Tickets to a New York Giants game are a smart gift. However, he will not appreciate tickets to "A Retrospective of 19th Century Quilts." Everyone knows why. Rule #12: Men love chain saws. Never, ever, buy a man you love a chain saw. If you don't know why, please refer to Rule #7 (Remember what happens when he gets a label maker?) Rule #13: It's hard to beat a really good wheelbarrow or aluminum extension ladder. Never buy a real man a stepladder. It must be an extension ladder. No one knows why. Rule #14: Rope. Men love rope. It takes us back to our cowboy origins, or at least the Boy Scouts. Nothing says "I love you" like a hundred feet of 3/8" manila rope. No one knows why.

- 43%: Percentage of custodial fathers who received all child support that was due, not significantly different from the corresponding percentage for custodial mothers. These fathers received an average of $6,210 in child support in 2005, compared with $5,981 for mothers who received full support. (These figures are not statistically different from each other.)
- 36%: Percentage of custodial fathers with child-support agreements or awards.
- 72%: Percentage of custodial fathers receiving noncash support, such as gifts or coverage of expenses, on behalf of their children. The corresponding proportion for mothers was 59 percent.
- 53% and 71%: Percentages of children younger than 6 who ate breakfast and dinner, respectively, with their father every day in 2006. The corresponding percentages who ate with their mother were 58 percent and 80 percent. Here are 10 steps to being a better husband
Guys, ever wonder how to be a husband? Here are 10 steps to being a better husband (from MSN.com) - Take an interest in something your wife is really passionate about. This can be especially tough for guys, because we generally feel that if someone else has interests that differ from ours, they're morons. It's not an easy task, and being able to show interest in something that matters to someone you love shows growth -- and that's terrifying. Good, but terrifying. Accomplish this and you'll make her feel better about herself, and you get better insight into what makes her tick.
- Put the kids to bed. Once a week give her the night off and put the kids to bed by yourself. Let her take a hot bath, read a book, or check gossip on the Web and forget about the kids. I'm always amazed how happy this makes my wife. It ranks somewhere between low-end jewelry and a Hawaiian vacation.
- Learn to apologize. This is the easiest one, and the hardest one. A marriage is a marathon, and we all fly off the handle too quick or let our temper get the best of us sometimes. When you're wrong, it's best to step up and apologize. It's amazing how fast "I'm sorry" can defuse a stupid argument about something you can't even remember.
- Thank her for putting up with you. Every once in a while, just thank her for putting up with you. That's all you have to say. Don't launch into a list of your faults, or the story about coming home two days late from that Vegas bachelor party. Just thank her, and let her know that you understand that you're not the easiest person in the world to live with.
- Clean up after yourself. Take care of that late night snack or morning cereal bowl. Setting them in the sink is one thing, but go that extra mile and actually put them in the dishwasher. After all, no one enjoys scraping bacon dip off a bowl that's been sitting too long or smelling the chili from the night before. A beer bottle on the counter the next morning is even worse.
KFLAG COUNTRY MUSIC NEWS
HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!!!!
Alan Jackson on his relationship with his three daughters: "I think that I have a sense of humor with 'em and I'm fun and I'm not just some serious dad, and then I talk to 'em. If they're dating some boy and I wanna know what's goin' on, I'll ask 'em. I'll just go in there and tell 'em, 'Hey, me and your mama were datin' when we were 17. I know what's goin' on,' and I just talk to 'em." Alan Jackson on his own dad:"When I decided to go to Nashville, that was like, everybody in Newnan, Georgia thought I'd lost my mind, you know, but my daddy, I'm sure he deep down thought, 'I hate to see him go, he's gonna get hurt,' and just said, 'You know, you can always come back home.' That's the kind of man he was. He just said a few things, but they always supported us." Brad Paisley on patterning his parenting after his dad: "He was around for my childhood. He worked a day job. He coached my fifth grad basketball team. He was there, you know? He was the dad that you want a dad to be, and (I) couldn't ask for better, and so I didn't have any excuses for being a bad father. Some people might have a good excuse if they don't know how to do it, but I don't!"
Dierks Bentley on Father's Day plans: "I'm gonna definitely get an extra bus and bring everyone out. It takes on a whole new meaning. I'm always kind of the just make the phone call kind of forget to send the care out in time kind of son, and I feel bad. Now that I am a dad it's like I expect some things here. I want some cards and some recognition, but really in our house it's Mother's Day that deserves all the major praise cause I've been fairly busy this year." Jason Michael Carroll on what he'd like for Father's Day: "One of the best gifts I could probably get for Father's Day is more time with my kids, you know? Hangin' out with them, having them on the road, when I go home, being able to pick them up with less drama -- just havin' a great time doin' that kind of stuff." Darryl Worley on becoming a father to his toddler daughter: "It really, really has changed my life in a lot of different ways, but I think the most important way is that it has made me realize just how unimportant all the things that I thought were important are and how important it is my focus be on my wife and my child. I mean, it took something like that to really make Darryl Worley get his priorities straight, and it's the best thing that's ever happened to me in my whole life." Alan Jackson will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year, it was announced by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce on Thursday (June 18th). Other 2010 recipients include Russell Crowe, Adam Sandler, Alan Jackson, Bryan Adams, James Cameron, Bill Maher, Ringo Starr, Mark Wahlberg, Colin Firth, Randy Newman, Jimmy Kimmel, and Gale Anne Hurd. - Jackson celebrates this 20th anniversary as a recording artist this month.
FAST FACTS - Jackson took home a CMT Music Award for Performance of the Year for "Country Boy," the video performance with George Straight, Brad Paisley and Dirks Bentley, earlier this week. The clip was from his special, CMT Giants: Alan Jackson.
Newcomer Justin Moore has a hit on his hands with his latest single, "Small Town USA." The song climbs inside the Top 20 this week, giving Moore a different perspective on the music business, as he told us on the red carpet at the CMT Music Awards earlier this week."It feels good right now. It's the first song I wrote when I moved to Nashville seven years ago, and I thought, 'Man, this is a little too personal for anybody else to get besides people that grew up just like I did.' Luckily, I've been wrong. It's a lot of fun to be doin' all this stuff with a hit record, so it's a departure for me." - Moore's new EP, called You Asked For It, was recently released exclusively on iTunes. All of the songs on the EP were selected by the fans, including "Small Town USA," "Back That Thing Up," "I Could Kick Your Ass," "Hank It" and "How I Got To Be This Way."
- Moore's self-titled debut album is slated for release sometime this summer.
Kellie Pickler graces the pages of the current issue of OK! magazine -- six pages, to be exact! Dubbed "Southern Belle," Pickler talks about life on tour, which she's becomes quite accustomed to since hitting the road with Taylor Swift on her sold-out Fearless tour. Pickler said, "Funny. As a child I thought, 'I'm going to be a big country star and get out of this damn trailer.' Then I go and get one. I mean, it's a $1 million trailer but it's still a trailer." Pickler also shared her long-term goal with the publication. "Of course I would love to be a member of the Grand Ole Opry. It would be such a huge honor." SIDE NOTE - Pickler is doing some headlining of her own this weekend while on a brief hiatus from the Fearless tour. She performs tonight (Friday, June 19th) in Harris, Michigan.

But there are several big exceptions, including "one involving her very talented feet," according to TMZ.com. A company called celebhotline.com is negotiating for the video. "We've seen the tape and we're hoping to close the deal," the company's spokesperson, Kevin Blatt told TMZ.LINDSAY LOHAN AND PARIS HILTON MAD AT GOSSELINS? Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton are reportedly livid at being replaced by Jon and Kate Gosselin on the tabloid covers and are actively trying to regain headlines. The performer released a statement saying, "Chaz is embarking on a difficult journey, but one that I will support. I respect the courage it takes to go through this transition in the glare of public scrutiny and although I may not understand I will strive to be understanding. The one thing that will never change is my abiding love for my child." STEPHANIE PRATT DENIES 'US WEEKLY' CLAIMS: Stephanie Pratt is denying Us Weekly magazine's cover story, that working on The Hills made her bulimic. The reality star told MTV, 'The Hills' did not make me bulimic. - Former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf has his day in court today on drug and burglarly charges.
- Bob Bogle, one of the co-founders of the The Ventures, has died at age 75.
WHY IT'S BETTER TO DATE YOUNGER GUYS (Glamour)
 - They try a lot harder: When you're out on a date (or doing private stuff, wink wink), a younger guy is more out to impress than an older one who feels like he's already proved himself in the past. And since we're more apt to expect less from a younger guy, every little thing he does seems above-and-beyond.
- They really, really like that you're older: Maybe he had some high school fantasy about fooling around with a teacher or he digs the whole Ashton and Demi thing, but you're automatically considered more of a challenge, more mysterious - and all you had to do was be born before him.
- They don't take themselves too seriously: Of course you're expected to be more mature as you age, but some men interpret this to mean you can no longer be goofy and laugh at yourself. But younger guys? They're not above wearing spandex shorts and eighties sweatbands on Halloween.
- One word...abs: Yes, it's shallow, but what woman hasn't been on the beach with a bunch of college coeds and thought about running her hands along a washboard?
WHAT A PERSON'S TV PREFERENCES SAYS ABOUT THEM (AOL)
 - Comedies: A person who watches comedies is trying to feel positive by perceiving daily life as a sitcom. You can use the different approaches to humor based on the dynamics of gender humor. Never make fun of him, but do laugh at his jokes because he wants your approval. However, a woman can make fun of herself like, "Silly me" and he will melt! Use humor to quickly disarm negativity even in the middle of a heated argument. Laughter in the bedroom is a real turn on for the comedy viewer because laughter releases stress and increases endorphins. Initiate sex with a pillow fight or tickling.
- Sports: This is a goal-oriented person. Your spouse really wants to please you and make sure that you are fulfilled. Discuss important matters side by side while you are both active: jogging, bicycling, hiking or painting a room. This person releases stress and thinks better when he or she has a physical outlet. A sports fan does not like to feel cornered. You are lucky because your lover enjoys sex and wants a partner to enjoy it too.
- Reality Shows: This viewer is concrete, down to earth and not attracted to fantasy. He or she is an observer of human nature and learns through imitation. This person is likely to be competitive, and looking for validated success -- acknowledge it. Celebrity stories provide a springboard for conversation and behavior. Remove your mask and be honest about your feelings. Update special rituals for just the two of you.
- News: He or she is straightforward, basic and likes to read the fine print. This person needs structure, so don't surprise him or her with unstructured fun. However, do expose him or her to little adventures. The enjoyment will be enormous. Remember to speak literally and not metaphorically. Another plus is you will get consistency in this relationship.
- Drama: This viewer thrives on romance and is in love with the idea of love, especially its highs and lows. It's good to be emotional and use metaphors. Use your hands to emphasize your points. Go on and have a good fight! Kissing and making-up are part of the rhythm of this relationship. So activate your flair for fantasy -- verbally, and don't forget to dress boldly.
- Home Improvement TV: This viewer likes the nuts and bolts of things and relationships. Too much makeup or formality is a turn off. Working on your self-growth improves this marriage. The outdoors and green living are core values. Restoration as opposed to throwing things away is a high priority. Create a bedroom retreat to jumpstart romance and it doesn't have to be expensive; in fact, design on a dime is most desirable.
- Adventure & Discovery: He or she is an explorer and loves to change it up. Routine will deaden this heart and cause your beloved to wander away on a solo journey. Travel together to new places, sample new experiences and make sure to change your look periodically. For a heart-to-heart conversation, visit the amusement park!

Toby Keith kicks off his America's Toughest tour tonight (Thursday, June 18th) in Holmdel, New Jersey with special guest Trace Adkins. The day's festivities include a free pre-show party at The Stone Pony in nearby Asbury Park. The celebration begins at 1 p.m. ET and includes live music, afternoon drink specials, Harley Davidson promotions and exhibitions, not to mention a special appearance by Toby. The show at the PNC Bank Arts Center begins at 7:30 p.m. ET with a performance from Trace. Trace recently told reporters at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville that he and Toby have more in common than just being two of the biggest guys in country music."I've thought for years that it made a lot of sense for Toby and I to tour together. I think some of the music that we do is not dissimilar. I mean, we'll both go from one end of the spectrum -- do something offensive and then do some kind of sweet ballad right after that, or a gospel song or whatever, so I've always thought it made a lot of sense. I think we share a fan base, so I'm lookin' forward to it. I think it oughta be a lot of fun. I've known several of the guys in Toby's organization for literally decades, so I'm really lookin' forward to this!" - The America's Toughest tour is sponsored by Ford F Series.
- The tour runs through September.
Reba McEntire recently celebrated her son, Shelby's, graduation from high school. Some parents find that day to be quite emotional, but McEntire tells us it was just a giant relief. "It made me feel very successful. To get a kid through high school is somethin' else. (Husband) Narvel (Blackstock) and I high-fived. We cheered. There wasn't a tear shed at graduation. I mean, I was goin' huggin' the teachers. I said, 'We did it!' It takes a tribe to raise these kids nowadays, but, yep, we've already gone to orientation. He's going to college this fall, and he's very excited about it and so are we." - McEntire is taking some well-earned vacation time with her family before hitting the promotion trail for the release of her new album, Keep On Loving You, on August 18th.
- Her debut single, "Strange," is a Top 15 hit and climbing on the country charts.
SIDE NOTE - McEntire will expand her retail line with a newly-designed line of luggage. She Twittered yesterday (Wednesday, June 17th) that, "It's gonna be really nice!" For more information on the product log onto www.rebaluggage.com.
Martina McBride is the coolest mom ever since the Jonas Brothers tapped her to perform with them during their Nashville concert last year. It all started when Nick Jonas paid a visit to Martina and her husband, John McBride's, Blackbird recording studio in Nashville. As the parents of two big Jonas Brothers fans, Martina tells us her husband offered fair warning to Nick. "We're so happy that he came to record at the studio, and, of course, Delaney and Emma were very, very excited, and John said right up front, he said, you know, 'I just wanna tell you, we will try for our daughters not to stalk you while you're here,' and they actually did good! They ran into each other but Delaney was very poised, and it was great to have him there. He's a nice guy!" McBride says that while she and her family have gotten to spend some time with the Jonas Brothers, you aren't likely to find them hanging around her house. "You know, I got to sing with them when they were here in Nashville at the Ryman. They asked me to come sing with them on stage, so we got to go to rehearsal and hang out a little bit, and they're really serious about their music, really sweet kids. (I) got to meet their parents, and so I wouldn't say we like hang out and are really close friends, but we have connected quite a few times." - McBride graces the cover of this month's Shape magazine, alongside Julianne Hough and LeAnn Rimes.
Three of country music's hottest women have uncovered their shapes for America to see. Julianne Hough, Martina McBride and LeAnn Rimes share the cover of this month's Shape magazine, and they are all proudly sporting bikinis. The ladies range in age from 20 to 42. The magazine hits newsstands this week. QUICK LINK JUST OUR OPINION - Kudos to Martina, who at the age of 42 looks as good as her much younger counterparts!
Jimmy Wayne's first major tour is with notorious prankster Brad Paisley. Wayne says he's been known to play a joke or two, but the level of Paisley's pranks has him shaking in his boots. "I'm scared! Brad asked me to have lunch with him the other day and the whole time I'm sittin' there at the table I'm thinkin', like, 'He's plotting! That's what he's doing!' You know how the fox circles the pen? That's exactly what he was doing. I was like, 'He's plotting!' He's all, 'Hey, man, really glad to have you out here.' I'm gonna be the poster child. I know it already!" - Paisley's American Saturday Night tour plays in St. Louis tonight (Thursday, June 18th).
- The tour also features special guest Dierks Bentley.
Although the lyrics make clear references to his ex-girlfriend, Joe Jonas won't confirm that his band's single, "Much Better" is about Taylor Swift. When asked about the song's subject, the 19-year-old told MTV, "We went through a lot in the past year and a half, all of us. And you're just going to have to get the record and figure it out for yourself." - A sample lyric in "Much Better" reads, "I got a rep for breakin' hearts/ Now I'm done with superstars/ And all the tears on her guitar/ I'm not bitter."
- One of Swift's singles is titled, "Teardrops on My Guitar."
- Swift on the other hand, admitted that her song, "Forever & Always" was indeed inspired by her relationship with Jonas. She told MTV at the time, "With this situation, I feel like I owed it to my fans to be like, 'Look, it happened, you weren't crazy,' and address it. And I addressed it, and, you know, that's a chapter in my life that's closed now."
INTERNET COMMENTS: DO YOU AGREE OR DISAGREE? - From Ohhitsdeanna on PerezHilton.com: "wow taylor has more balls than joe ever will for admitting it was about joe, and having tons of girls wanting to claw her eyes out. but she still did it. taylors 10 times better than his new girl could be. but hey, the jonas brothers will be gone soon enough. while thankfully, taylor swift will be around for a long time."

'THE HILLS' MADE STEPHANIE PRATT BULIMIC: The Hills cast member Stephanie Pratt claims that her involvement on the show sparked a battle with bulimia. Pratt told Usmagazine.com that the pressure of having to appear on screen with her skinny co-stars made the 23-year-old hate her body. She told the magazine that after seeing a scene of herself with Lauren Conrad in 2007, "I was horrified. I remember saying, 'I can't believe how huge I look walking over to Lauren.'" Pratt noted that "The producers never put pressure on us to lose weight," but added, "It's embarrassing working with skinny girls." She looked to be just over the legal drinking age!" TABLOID CLAIMS MORGAN FREEMAN SLEPT WITH STEP-GRANDDAUGHTER: Morgan Freeman reportedly had a long-term affair with his step-grandaughter. The National Enquirer claims that the now-27-year-old E'Dena Hines and the actor first began a sexual relationship when she was a teenager. Myrna has admitted that she and Morgan had an open relationship until his affair with a mistress became serious.
WHICH ONE ARE YOU?
From a romantic to a player, experts say there are six different ways you can be "in love." Health.com, with input from Pepper Schwartz, Ph.D., a sociology professor at the University of Washington in Seattle, describes the six types of lovers: - The Romantic -- Swept away by your lover's good looks and physical attractiveness, you just love being in love. The problem? When his hairline recedes or her waistline expands, you are disappointed. Remember that romance doesn't have to fade as the relationship ages.
- The List-Maker -- You have very high standards--so high that you may put too much pressure on your partner to live up to them. It's time to let go of that list or you could be living a very lonely life. Remember, what's most important is companionship, love and forgiveness--not the size of a bank account, an Ivy League education, job title, the square footage of a house or anything else that impresses others.
- The Obsessive -- You want to spend every minute with your partner. Even though you've been together for years, you still worry about the relationship. Watch out! Your insecurities are making you overbearing. You may need professional help putting your relationship into a realistic perspective. You are so selfless and love your partner so much that you often give more than you receive. While that's laudable, you need to make sure you look after your own needs, too. Do make sure you develop a life outside your marriage with your own friendships and interests.
- The Player -- It's all about the chase for you. Long-term relationships bore you and when you're in one too long, your eye may roam. If you're married, make sure you avoid situations that could lead to an affair. Take temptation out of your life and instead find excitement inside your marriage.
- The Pal -- First, you were friends. Then one day you realized, "I'm in love!" Your relationship may be quiet, but it's strong. Just make sure things don't get too platonic. Plan a romantic evening for two and rev up the sex and excitement.
GOIN' TO GET MARRIED

June, or Weddings Month, is here. "Although couples may think they're bucking tradition, they're actually collectively creating new wedding rules," says Christa Vagnozzi, senior editor of WeddingChannel.com. "Asking their best guy friend to be a man of honor, deciding to keep their last name and registering for their honeymoon are becoming more mainstream as brides and grooms strive to incorporate their personal style." Here are the four new wedding traditions for the 21st century: - Gender-Bending Rituals -- Man of honor? Best woman? Brides and grooms are no longer dismissing their best friends of the opposite sex when it comes to their wedding. In fact, according to a WeddingChannel.com poll, an 63% of brides said that if their best friend were a guy, they would definitely ask him to be a bridesman or man of honor.
- A Friend as the Officiant -- According to a WeddingChannel.com poll, 59% of couples would be interested in having a friend or family member officiate.
- The Name Game -- Don't make any assumptions when it comes to the bride's last name. According to the Real Weddings Survey 2007 by The Knot Wedding Network, 12% of brides don't plan on taking their spouse's name upon marriage.
- Alternative Wedding Registries -- China and crystal are so yesterday. Brides and grooms are ditching traditional registries or augmenting them with such unusual gifts as horseback riding lessons, the honeymoon, a hi-definition plasma-screen TV and even donations to their favorite charity.
DID YOU KNOW?
Of the married men and women who have affairs, 62% of men and 46% of women have strayed with lovers they met in the office, according to the Durex Global Sex Survey. Want more? Here are some facts about infidelity that were uncovered by the Durex Global Sex Survey: - About 440,000 affairs have been discovered as a result of electronic traces, such as e-mails and cell phone logs.
- People over 50 are most likely to have an affair with nearly one-third of this age group admitting to having had sex with someone they shouldn't. This compares with 23% of those 30 to 40 years old and 14% of those under 30.
- People who work in three specific jobs are more likely to cheat than others: human resources, trucking and travel agencies.
- 44% of adults worldwide have had a one-night extramarital fling, and 22% have had a full-fledged affair.
- Nearly 33% of adults know someone who has been caught cheating with a lover.
Eating down your meals quickly and continuing to eat until you are full may be enough to nearly triple your risk of being overweight, according to research from Japan's Osaka University. 50.9% of men and 58.4% women said they ate until they were full, while 45.6% of men and 36% of women said they ate quickly. Those who said they ate quickly and until they were full had a higher body mass index (BMI) and total energy intake and were three times more likely to be overweight than those who didn't eat until they were full and didn't eat quickly.
There are a lot of great -- and terrible -- articles written on "lines" for men to say to women, but what about what not to say? Many mistakes can be avoided by keeping one's mouth closed. Askmen.com provides the 10 things you should never say to a woman when dating: - Can I kiss you?
- Can I take you out on a date sometime?
- Anything about your car, house or job that sounds like you are trying to impress her.
- What do you want to do tonight?
- Do you like me?
- I left you a message the other day, but didn't hear back. What happened?
- How many guys have you slept with?
- Anything that hints at a "future".
- I'll call you Friday.
- Anything bad about her guy friends.
Your best chance of getting a woman's attention is to dish the dirt on her pals, says a new study. A whopping 67% of the women polled revealed that the only time they give speakers 100% of their attention is when they're either gossiping or eaves dropping on gossip. The women reported hearing about 70% of what either their husbands or lovers say, according to the survey by Siemens Hearing Instruments. But they only heed 66% of their bosses' lectures and only 64% of their co-workers' chatter. Only 19% of the women polled reckoned that they take in every word of every conversation, while 5% admitted that they only pay attention to every odd word. When it came to men, 21% claimed to hang on every word other people say. Meanwhile, 50% of the men admitted that their ears really perk up at gossip. (National Examiner)

Adrian Grenier and Twilight's Ashley Greene are the subjects of Hollywood's latest romance rumor. The New York Post reports that the two were spotted "getting cozy" over the past weekend in Santa Barbara. A witness told the paper, "Once they met, they were inseparable all weekend. By Sunday night, they were on the dance floor together." HARRISON FORD IS TOP EARNER: Harrison Ford is Hollywood's highest-earning actor. The Indiana Jones star topped Forbes' annual list -- mostly because of the Indy deal which made him $65 million between June 2008 and June 2009. Other big-time earner include Adam Sandler, Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, Nicolas Cage and Johnny Depp. CRAIG FERGUSON REVEALS SUICIDAL HISTORY: Craig Ferguson admits in his upcoming memoir that he almost committed suicide before seeking treatment for his alcoholism. In America On Purpose, Ferguson says that one Christmas morning, "I felt worse than I ever had. ... I was a drunk, a loser and a disaster as a human being. ... The shame was immense. It pushed down on me like a terrible weight." He revealed that he planned to jump off Tower bridge and into the Thames river before running into a friend who cheered him up -- and subsequently saved his life.
WORK HABITS TO CHANGE (CareerBuilder.com)
 - Procrastination: When you leave yourself no wiggle room to complete a task, you run the risk of encountering an unexpected obstacle that makes you miss the deadline. Even if the situation is out of your hands, everyone will be left wondering why you didn't plan better and account for last-minute emergencies.
- Being a sloppy e-mailer: E-mails are second nature to most people these days, and in informal communications they've become a digital Post-it note. We type out a message and send it without proofreading or double-checking the recipients. That's a recipe for disaster.
- Confusing informal with disrespectful: In many workplaces, the boss might be the decision maker, but he or she isn't the stern, humorless caricature you saw on TV. Using your supervisor's first name and going for some drinks after work are common in many industries. Still, you are the employee and the boss is the boss -- the one who can fire you and tell you what to do. Don't cross the line by talking to her as if you're talking to one of your direct reports or even your best friend. You need to show some respect for her authority.
- Taking advantage of leeway: Some companies are strict about the time you clock in and out. Others have guidelines but no hard rules, so you can arrive at 8:35 a.m. and no one cares. If over time you're arriving at 9:10 a.m. and leaving at 4 p.m. (with plenty of breaks in between), your reputation will suffer.
- Refusing to mingle: Plenty of wisdom lies in the advice not to mix personal and professional lives. However, refusing to take part in any social activity -- such as the office potluck or a happy hour -- will not help your career. You don't need to be the resident party animal, but being personable with your colleagues helps build camaraderie. You get to know other people better and they get to know you as more than the person they pass in the halls.
- Always running late: This isn't the same as abusing leeway; this is a matter of trust. If you're late to work, to meetings and with projects, your boss and colleagues will associate that trait with you. When it's time for a promotion or to deal with an important client, everyone will think twice before giving you the opportunity. Who wants to trust the person who can't manage his or her time?
- Being rigid: One of the unfair aspects of the working world is that sometimes it seems you can't win. If you're hired to do a job, most bosses don't want you passing the day by reading your favorite book. The reason: You were hired to do a job, so do it. But if the boss comes to you with a new project that's outside the parameters of your usual duties, it's still yours to do. "You don't pay me to do that" isn't something you want to tell your supervisor.
- Acting as the resident contrarian: We all love your spirited personality, but try not to be the person in the meeting who always has a better idea and can tell you why everyone else's idea is dumb. Voices of opposition are often missing in many workplaces because too many eager employees want to be "yes" men and women. But too much negativity grates on nerves and makes people dread hearing your voice.
- Badmouthing the company: With blogs, Facebook, Twitter and a host of other sites, you have plenty of opportunity to vent your frustration with life. If you're going to complain about how dumb your boss is and how much you hate your job, keep those rants private. The Internet is public domain and comments have a way of finding their way back to all the wrong people. If you wouldn't stand outside your boss's office and tell a co-worker how ready you are to quit, don't express the same thoughts in an open forum.
- Politicking: Office politics are often unavoidable, and sometimes having a grasp on what's going on can benefit you, but you shouldn't spend more time masterminding office warfare than you do working. Getting caught in the crosshairs of a workplace controversy can be out of your control, but if you're the one instigating the drama, you're earning a bad reputation. You're the person who starts trouble and whom no one trusts. That's the kind of notoriety that follows you from one workplace to another.

If you have friends named Judy or Joshua and they're always ridiculously upbeat and happy, there's a reason: It's in their name. The happiest people are likely to be named Judy or Joshua, and the most miserable are Lynn and Ben. That's the word from psychologist Dr. David Holmes of Britain's Manchester Metropolitan University, who claims people's personalities change to fit the name their parents gave them. In addition to Judy and Joshua, the happiest people are named Stephanie, Linda, Pam, Pat, Matthew, Jason, Terry and Barry. The unhappiest women tend to be Charlotte, Tina, Amy or Tara, while the most dejected males are likely to go by the names of Andrew, Edward, Tim or Owen, reports the BBC News. Men, it turns out, feel the most guilt after sexual infidelity, while women feel guiltier after an emotional affair, reports LiveScience.com. Researchers from St. Mary's University in Halifax, Canada, found that almost without exception, the men expressed more guilt about sexual cheating, while women felt guiltier about emotional infidelity. Specifically, women confessed they would feel guiltier after falling in love with someone else, rather than trying different sexual positions with him, while men said they would feel guiltier having sex without emotion, rather than love without sex--even with a one-night stand. Here's something else for pessimists to grumble about optimists live longer, healthier lives, says University of Pittsburgh researchers. They found that women with a negative attitude had more health problems and were more likely to have high blood pressure, diabetes or smoke cigarettes. Cynically hostile gals were 23 percent more likely to die from cancer, while women with a positive attitude were 30 percent less likely to die from heart disease. (Globe)

Taylor Swift remains tight-lipped about details of her pairing with rapper T-Pain at tonight's (Tuesday, June 16th) CMA Music Awards. She did acknowledge that the two will be doing something together in the opening segment while speaking to reporters before her performance at the CMA Music Festival on Sunday (June 14th). "Well, the T-Pain thing, it's not really specified what that collaboration is yet, and so its been really fun to keep that a secret because we've never confirmed if it's a performance or if it's a . . . something else. You never know. You know, you should watch it." Swift is nominated at the CMT Music Awards for her collaboration with rockers Def Leppard on CMT Crossroads earlier this year, and she recently jammed on stage with John Mayer during one of her tour stops. Reaching across genres is something Swift says she makes a conscious effort to do."I like making new friends, and I respect people for a lot of different reasons. For me, great music doesn't just have to fall in one category or one genre, and I just love appreciating all kinds of music. Country music is obviously my favorite, and that just goes without saying, but I've always loved John Mayer, and I think T-Pain is brilliant, and getting to work with people like that has been really, really fun for me. It's something that I've always wanted to do." - Swift is nominated for Performance Video of the Year and Wide Open Video of the Year for "Photograph" with Def Leppard, as well as Female Video of the Year for "Love Story."
- The CMT Music Awards airs live from Nashville's Sommet Center beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
Darius Rucker celebrated his second country Number One hit, "It Won't Be Like This For Long," on Monday (June 15th) at a party in Nashville. His first, "Don't Think I Don't Think About It," topped the charts in 2008. Rucker tells us that the immediate acceptance by country radio and country fans is more than he ever imagined. "We didn't know what was gonna happen with this record, and when 'Don't Think' did well, we put out the second single just hopin' that it would do something. We knew we had a good song, and when it got to Number One and stayed there for three weeks . . . It's just a validation of makin' the record and doin' all the stuff I wanted to do. It feels like it was worth it because radio's playin' it and the fans are likin' it and that's why I make records." - Rucker's debut country album, Learn To Live, was released last year.
- His latest single, "Alright," continues its climb up the charts.
Rascal Flatts goes into tonight's (Tuesday, June 16th) CMT Music Awards with three nominations -- Video of the Year for "Every Day," and Group Video for both "Every Day" and "Bob That Head," a category they have won for the past six years. Rascal Flatts members Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus tell us they are particularly excited about fan-voted award shows like the CMT Music Awards. "(LeVox) Well, those are our favorite -- fan-voted award shows. (DeMarcus) That and the People's Choice are two of our favorites. (LeVox) Yeah, wish all of 'em would be fan-voted, just because when we go in the studio to make an album, to make music, when we go tour, I mean, they're our employers. That's who we make the music for, so it's great that they have a voice in it and we're honored every time that we're up for a fan-voted, fan-nominated award show. It's just a great honor and they're the reason that we make music and it's great that they nominate us for things that we've done in our career and things that we've enjoyed doing for them, so it's great. We do have the greatest fans on the planet!" -

CALL IN SICK THE RIGHT WAY

To avoid getting canned when playing hooky from work, follow Cosmopolitan's savvy plan: - Do it on Tuesday -- Feigning sickness is much less suspicious if, duh, you do it on a day other than Friday or Monday.
- Time it right -- Dial in before the workday starts so you can leave a message on your boss's voice mail. Just make sure to leave your digits and check in later.
- Don't aim for an Oscar -- Rather than putting on a fake cough voice and claiming that you're dying of the flu which she'll know is a lie, just day you're not feeling well.
- Do it with discretion -- Keep the margarita soaked memories to yourself. An envious cubiclemate could rat you out and if your boss knows you lied, she'll be pissed.

MEN IN RELATIONSHIPS GAWK AS MUCH AS SINGLE GUYS: Asylum.com reports that a guy with a girlfriend will stare at another woman for as long as a single man, but a female in a relationship is less interested in looking at the opposite sex. Researchers had men and women between the ages of 17 and 26 rate a series of photos of the opposite sex. Regardless of relationship status, both the men and women tended to agree among their gender on overall masculinity/femininity of the pictured. But, before giving their ratings, the women with boyfriends studied the photos for a shorter period time than the single ladies did, while the taken men stared for just as long as their unattached brethren.CHECK IT OUT: A fun, new way to exercise! http://catworkout.com/ AVERAGE SIZE WOMEN MORE APPEALING THAN SKINNY GIRLS: A new study, performed by Rob Brooks at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, has found the 'ideal' feminine shape is more common than conventionally thought. Dr Brooks asked 100 male students to judge the attractiveness of 201 line drawings of female torsos with different hip, waist and shoulder measurements. The men showed a preference for a waist-hip ratio of 0.7 - but only if the woman had had an average sized waist, hips and shoulders. When the preferred line-drawings were compared to real-life women - including Playboy centerfolds, Australian escorts advertising and average Aussie women between the ages of 25 and 44 - the average women most closely matched the 'ideal'. She hasn't had a new album out since 2002's Up!, and to hear Shania Twain tell it, it's going to be quite a while before she's ready to release another one. The superstar broke her long silence on both her career and her personal life in a posting to fans on her website, shaniatwain.com, on Friday (June 12th). Twain said her divorce from husband and producer Mutt Lange has also been a professional setback, saying "I wish like crazy that I had new music by now since I dream of how fun it would be to see you all again out on tour with new songs to sing, but as most of you know, I have been side-tracked slightly over this past year. . . Since then, I've been inspired by my pain to write and use writing as a therapy through the suffering. I truly wouldn't wish this on anybody as a means to get inspired, but it's been a productive period with so much emotion trying to find it's way out. However, there is no telling how long it will take me to actually finish these songs and record them so they can get out to you." Twain said she appreciates the continued support from fans, saying "I know you certainly all do deserve new music and tour dates; not only because it's been so long, but also because of the HUGE support you've all given me during this period. The many blogs and e-mails have warmed my heart, strengthened my confidence, given me courage, and have often even made me laugh out loud...in a good way! I know I am not alone and realize through your support that you are all rooting for (son) Eja (pronounced ASIA) and I, and our well-being. Thank you!" Twain also gave some insight into how she's been spending her time these days. "I've jumped out of an airplane at 10,000 feet, I'm riding Spanish and Arabian horses, traveling to exotic places, I've been deep sea diving for the first time! I pull the odd all-nighter, read more books, listen to Eja's favourite music with him, LOUD [ironically his favourite band is AC/DC] and basically I'm enjoying life." FAST FACTS - Twain and Lange were married in 1993. They officially separated in 2008 amid rumors that Lange was having an affair.
- The couple's only child, Eja, was born in 2001.
SIDE NOTES
Taylor Swift was clearly the favorite at this year's CMA Music Festival. The crowd at the four-day event was filled with Swift look-alikes sporting sundresses and cowboy boots. The teenager's fans began lining up a full day in advance of Swift's signing session at the Nashville Convention Center yesterday (Sunday, June 14th). Swift met with fans and signed autographs for over five hours before taking the stage at LP Field last night. Before the show, she told us that this event in particular brings everything full circle for her. "This is absolutely my favorite time of year because I remember when I was 14 years old and I was holding a clipboard, interning at the CMA Music Fest and just feeling like if there was ever a chance that someday people would line up to have me sign something of theirs that that would be a really, really good day for me, and I'm really happy to say that today was that day, and it's so wonderful to get the chance to do this." - Swift will perform on the CMT Music Awards on Tuesday (June 16th). She will also team up with rapper T-Pain for the show's opening segment.
Jason Aldean has been the opening act for such superstars as Rascal Flatts and Tim McGraw, but he says that when it comes to great showman, Keith Urban is the one to watch. Aldean is performing a few shows with Urban on his Escape Together World tour this summer, and he tells us this is one hot ticket. "His show is the best show I've seen in a long time by far. I love the Flatts guys. Man, they're great friends of mine and they put on a great show, and McGraw and those guys do as well, but Keith Urban's show is good, and I don't throw out compliments on peoples' shows very often, but his is really good. It's one of those things, if you're gonna spend money to go see a show this year, whether or not we're the opening act on it or not, I would check his show out cause it's amazing." - Aldean's next show with Urban is on July 9th in Omaha, Nebraska.
- Immediately after performing on the main stage at LP Field in Nashville as part of the CMA Music Festival on Friday (June 12th) night, Aldean made his way to the nearby Wildhorse Saloon to host his annual fundraiser concert for the Susan G. Komen For The Cure fight against breast cancer. Aldean's special guests this year included Jake Owen and Luke Bryan.
Jason Michael Carroll's 31st birthday fell on Saturday (June 13th), the same day he performed on the main stage at LP Field as part of the CMA Music Festival in Nashville. In addition to being thrilled about his performance before thousands of fans, Carroll told reporters that he is more than a little excited about a special birthday gift he got earlier that day. "My management just scored me Aerosmith tickets. I'm home on July 7th in Raleigh, North Carolina, and they surprised me with fifteenth row center Aerosmith tickets for Walnut Creek (Amphitheater) when they come on July 7th, and I get to meet the band! I'm stoked! I'm so excited about that!!" - Carroll performs in Somerset, Wisconsin on Friday (June 19th) with headliner Kenny Chesney.
The Zac Brown Band has such a catalog of new songs built up that they're thinking of new ways to get the music into the hands of their fans as quickly as possible. One such idea is a live CD at least once a year, with the first set to be recorded this fall, Zac Brown tells us: "We're doing a live DVD and double CD in October. We're gonna be recording at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, and that's gonna have a bunch of the new songs on it and (be) a creative outlet cause we write at a much faster pace than we can even arrange the stuff as a band much less release it all to the fans, but we're gonna be on track to do probably one studio record and either one or two live CDs a year just so we can have an outlet to do these kind of things." - The band recently recorded a new song at Kid Rock's house near Detroit.
- The Zac Brown Band performed at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville on Friday (June 12th) night.
Wynonna Judd reunited with her mother, Naomi, to perform during this weekend's CMA Music Festival in Nashville. The gig, which Wynonna joked was like "take-your-mother-to-work day," was one of only a handful the two have done together since officially splitting up in 1991. Their last country studio album, Love Can Build A Bridge, was released in 1990, but Wynonna tells us the idea of another Judds album is not out of the question. "We'll see. The Truth About Cheating

Marriage counselor M. Gary Neuman, author of "The Truth About Cheating," estimates that one in 2.7 men will cheat and most of their wives will never know it. What are the signs he's thinking about cheating? The same signs that he is actually cheating are also the clues he's about to cheat, according to Neuman. Pay close attention to these signals: - He spends more time away from the house.
- You have less sex.
- He avoids contact.
- He does not answer his cell phone.
- He criticizes you more.
So, why do men cheat? Neuman says that 92% of men insist it isn't primarily about sex. "The majority said it was an emotional disconnection, specifically a sense of feeling underappreciated," he told Oprah Winfrey on the "Oprah" show. The long to-do list of daily life often makes it easy to forget to do the little things a couple once did for one another. But when the wife forgets, the other woman remembers. She makes him feel appreciated and admired. More facts about a cheating man: - 88% of the men Neuman surveyed said the other woman was no better looking or in no better shape than their own wives.
- Only 7% of men who cheat confessed on their own to their wives without being asked about it first.
- Even when confronted with evidence, 55% of cheating men still did not tell their wives or they lied about it.
It turns out we can cheat without having sex. While emotional cheating doesn't involve any physical contact, it does involve secrecy and deception, which equals betrayal, according to O magazine. What's worse, people who are involved in emotional affairs are often in denial, trying to convince themselves that nothing has to change. You could be having an emotional affair if you: - Confide in a friend of the opposite sex.
- Hide from your spouse the amount of time you spend with an opposite sex friend.
- Flirt too much.

K-FLAG COUNTRY MUSIC NEWS
Reba McEntire signed autographs for fans at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville yesterday (Thursday, June 11th) for the first time in 13 years. During the course of her two-hour signing session at the Nashville Convention Center McEntire met many memorable fans, not the least of which was a child who stole her heart, she told reporters before taking the stage at LP Field last night. "Cute, cute, cute little boy -- his name was Riley. I think he was six years old. I got a picture with him -- I got down on my knees -- and then when I was telling him goodbye he said, 'Oh, Miss Reba, can I come see your house?' I said yes. What else are you gonna say to a cute little 'ol six-year-old kid. He was just a doll!" At the other end of the spectrum was a fan who brought McEntire to tears. "There was one lady who told me that she was readin' my book, Comfort From A Country Quilt, when her mother was passing away, and at the end of the book there is a title of a song, and she said, 'I didn't know much about your music until this book, and that was the last thing I was reading when my mom passed away,' and she said, 'Would you sign this page?' It got us all very emotional." McEntire had performed "Cowgirls Don't Cry" with Brooks & Dunn and was three songs into her own set when lightning forced show organizers to bring the concert to a halt. Shortly thereafter, McEntire Twittered, "So sorry we had to cut our show short!!! I was having such a good time! The producers were watching the radar and the lightning was getting closer. Stay safe!!!!" Fans lined up early outside a Nashville downtown club to see Alan Jackson perform for free on Wednesday (June 10th) night. Close to 1,000 fans made it inside, as Jackson celebrated his 20th anniversary as a recording artist. The show was among the events leading up to Thursday's (June 11th) kick off of the CMA Music Festival, which runs through Sunday (June 14th). Jackson's labelmate, Kix Brooks of Brooks & Dunn, introduced Jackson, who performed a career-spanning show for nearly two hours. Earlier in the evening, Jackson told us his longevity is still surprising to him. "I never dreamed it, never dreamed it. Man, it's just been a crazy ride and I saw peoples' careers, if they were lucky, last two or three years, or five would be a huge career, and I never expected to last that long. Initially, you just wanna have a hit on the radio. You don't really think about 20 years from now. It's pretty amazing. I've been very fortunate, very fortunate." - Jackson will head to Europe later this summer for shows in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
Dierks Bentley celebrated CMA Music Festival with his annual Last Call Ball fan club party in Nashville on Wednesday (June 10th), and was scheduled to perform on the stage at LP Field last night (Thursday, June 11th) but bad storms forced an early end to the show. We caught up with Bentley before the concert started, however, where he told us that his year wouldn't be complete without a visit to CMA Music Festival. "This whole deal, as a singer, it's kind of like Thanksgiving, where you count your blessings and think about all the things you're thankful for and get a chance to see your fans personally and thank 'em for this great life you get a chance to live and live out your dreams, so that's what CMA Fest is, I guess. The fan club party is like sittin' around the family table because those faces, I've seem them now for five, six years, and the fan club party, it's really special. It's a two-way street, and I get a lot out of it, hopefully as much as they get out of it, too, but it's a big deal." - Bentley had a very early wake up call this morning (Friday, June 12th) in order to get to the American Saturday Night show tonight in Mansfield, Massachusetts with headliner Brad Paisley. The tour rolls on to Connecticut and New Hampshire this weekend.
Miley Cyrus and Nick Jonas are definitely good friends -- if not more. As a photo of the former couple jet skiing together in Georgia leaked on the internet, MTV published an interview with Nick, in which he explains how enjoyable it was to record their new duet, "Before the Storm." - Nick told MTV News, ""Before the Storm" is probably one of my favorite songs on the record. I think it's probably one of my favorite songs because it has a great story to it. It's a duet with Miley, which is great."
- The network reported that the song didn't make the cut on the last Jonas Brothers album and originally didn't include Cyrus. She was brought into the project after Nick saw it as an opportunity to share a tale of young love with their fans. He added, "It's a good thing that happened and it'll be a good one to play live."
- Joe Jonas even suggested that his younger brother might perform the duet with Cyrus live on stage. He told MTV, "I think we might. Maybe. Heard it here first, possibly. Maybe."
- Meanwhile, Demi Lovato is denying reports that she's dating Cyrus's older brother Trace, claiming the two are just friends. Although Twitter followers have observed the pair flirting through the medium as of late, Lovato told Twist magazine, "Trace is really one of my good friends... People don't realize that he is really, really cool. And he is one of my good friends. I think we get along really well because he's someone who I can really talk to about a lot of stuff. We've both been through a lot."

It's been nearly two years, but Michelle Branch is almost done with her new solo album. More recently, she's had some success with the country duo, the Wreckers, but now she's gearing up to release her next solo effort, the follow-up to 2003's Hotel Paper. Branch has been updating fans with the latest progress on her website, writing, "I'm finishing up my album credits and thank you's as we speak (I've been putting it off.) It's really hard to believe that after 2 years of working, waiting and wondering that the single release is right around the corner. I have a few more weeks left to relax and then it's off and running like old times. I can't wait. I'm seriously bored." Her first single is expected to be the track "Sooner or Later." Branch writes, "I think it will be the perfect song to ease everyone into the record. It's very reminiscent of my first two records so it won't scare off you fans who are hungry for the 'old' me but it's also a very literal story so you can see how country music has inspired me as a writer." And in other news, Branch has decided to lay off alcohol for the next month. She writes, "Well today is my first day of Sober June. I've decided to stop drinking my beloved wine for the month of June to help get ready for the video shoot. I've started working my butt off (literally I hope) and had a farewell pasta dinner a few nights ago. No more baking this month either, waah waaaaaah." - Branch has been working on the album in Los Angeles. She heads to Nashville this weekend to attend the CMT Awards, and will then return to L.A. to finish mixing her record.

- She'll play a couple of acoustic dates with Chris Isaak this summer.
- There's no word on an exact release date on the Branch's new album.
ASK YOUR LISTENERS - Did you like Branch's more country sound with the Wreckers?

Here are 6 dating signs that show you're interested. (from Yahoo! Personals)

How do you show someone that you're interested?
- Lean toward your date. Body language plays a huge role in what you communicate to others. This is especially true on a date, where the person you're with will be paying a lot of attention to your body language. So, when you're on a date with someone who interests you, you need to let him/her know it with your body language. One of the best ways is to lean in towards your date. Lean in and smile. And when you're leaning in, look at your date directly in his/her eyes.
- Smile or laugh a bit when your date says something funny. While we all know it's important to listen to what your date is saying during a conversation, it's equally important to react to things that your date says that resonate with you. For instance, when your date is saying something funny, contribute to that part of the conversation. Keep the conversation rolling when it's on something funny and don't change the subject.
- When your date says something intriguing, comment on it. When your date starts talking about a topic that is in an area of interest of yours, respond with questions and get more involved in that topic. Say, for instance you feel really passionate about an upcoming election and your date says "Well, I really don't think I'm going to bother voting." You can respond with something like "Wait a second. Why are you considering not voting?" Then, let the conversation flow from there. Asking questions when a date says something relating to an area of interest of yours is a great way to get into a deeper conversation with your date while also showing interest in what your date is saying.
- Challenge your date a little bit. Gently challenging your date will lead to a stimulating conversation. It shows your date you're interested and engaged in the conversation, and that you're not just a puppet who just nods and agrees with everything.
- Keep your body language open at all times. Do not fold your arms. Do not pick at your nails when you are telling a story or talking. Look at your date directly in their eyes. Don't look in other directions. If you don't keep eye contact, your date will not only think you lack interest, but that you're looking at somebody else.
- Bring your date "into your space." When you catch yourself leaning back, lean forward towards your date. When you tell a story, be animated. Whenever you talk to your date, use hand gestures and engaging body language. Face your date and hold your in front of you. By doing all of this, you're inviting your date into your personal area. Your date will notice this and know you're interested.
HOW THE NEW iPHONE CAN HELP YOUR LOVE LIFE (YourTango.com)
 - Video Recording. Leave the sexting for the highschoolers. With iPhone 3G S's built-in video camera, simplified editing software and sharing capabilities, you can be your own Martin Scorsese or for the more adventurous out there, your own Jenna Jameson. Imagine, what better way to tantalize your significant other than with a sexy video message? Word to the wise, however, if you're aiming for an R-rating, make sure the receiving party possesses enough tact to be discreet and delete.
- Phone Locator. So you're running late for a date [also insert any other timely engagement] and your phone is nowhere to be found. Well, scurry frantically about your home no more. Apple has introduced a new function, in conjunction their MobileMe services, that allows users to locate a lost iPhone from any computer. You can have the missing phone located on a map or remotely signaled to make a loud beeping sound (which will work even if it's on silent). Now if only they could incorporate a key locator as well.
- Search. There may come a time when you're feeling a little suspicious and more than a little nosy about your significant other's dealings outside the relationship. Not that we condone wholesale invasion of someone else's privacy, but if you really need to know, the new iPhones feature multiple Spotlight functionalities that allows one to search keywords across all applications, including Mail, Contacts and Calendar. And while this may not necessarily aid your relationship, it enforces the need for openness, honesty and perhaps some reevaluation.
- Tethering. This is iPhone's revolutionary ability to break your laptop out of WiFi bondage. Now you can link your iPhone's 3G connection to your Mac notebook or PC laptop and connect to the Internet without having to find a hotspot. Best of all, you can still receive calls while the iPhone is tethered your laptop. At last, you are free to set up work dates outside of coffee shops.
- Better Battery Life. One of the major setbacks in the 2nd generation of iPhones was its meager battery life. After a day of heavy usage, late-night conversations were often limited to the charger's location. Though still untested by users, Apple is promising that the latest iPhone will offer 9 hours of Wi-Fi battery life, 12 hours 2G talk time and 5 hours 3G talk time. Longer-lasting battery life means longer and possibly more intimate conversations.

Leave it to Taylor Swift to shake things up a bit. The teenager will collaborate with rapper T-Pain during the opening segment of the CMT Music Awards on Tuesday (June 16th) in Nashville. T-Pain was recently announced as an addition to the show, but CMT's sister network, MTV, reports the two will be joining forces during the show. On Monday (June 8th), Swift Twittered, "If I said I was in the studio with T-Pain, would you believe me? Swift's label refuses to give any details about either the show or the reason behind their studio time together. Other additions to the CMT Music Awards include Dancing With The Stars champs Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas, Rodney Atkins, Billy Currington, Julianne Hough, Naomi Judd, Martina McBride, and Lee Ann Womack. Rascal Flatts will be among tonight's (Thursday, June 11th) opening night lineup at LP Field at the four-day CMA Music Festival in Nashville. The trio recently kicked off their American Living Unstoppable tour, but as Gary LeVox tells us, they are looking forward to singing for fans from all over the world on their own turf. "The fans are the whole reason we're employed and have jobs, you know, and we get all of 'em in one place at one time. It's just a big party. It's great for Nashville. It's great for all of us because we don't have to spend $30,000 in diesel fuel to get anywhere. We can drive our cars to the arena, and it's great to be in town. All the artists are always traveling to their hometowns performing. Everybody gets to come to our hometown. It's a big, big night in country music, and we wouldn't miss it for the world." - The group resumes their tour on Friday (June 12th) with a show in Miami, Oklahoma.
- Their new single, "Summer Nights," is climbing the charts.
- The CMA Music Festival runs through Sunday (June 14th).
Darius Rucker has a week of touring with headliners Rascal Flatts under his belt, and so far, so good. Rucker says he feels like the combination of the two acts is a great fit in every way, including how they will spend their downtime this summer, as he tells us. "You know, we're gonna play golf everyday and drink some beers and have some good times and play some music and do practical jokes on each other and it's gonna be a good time. A lot of opportunities came up for me to tour this year and when the Rascal Flatts one came up I was very excited cause I knew it was not only gonna be a great show but also gonna be a lot of fun!" - Rucker will perform on the main stage at LP Field as part of CMA Music Festival in Nashville tonight (Thursday, June 11th).
- He continues on Rascal Flatts' American Living Unstoppable tour on Friday (June 12th) in Miami, Oklahoma, with weekend shows in Dallas and The Woodlands, Texas on Saturday (June 13th) and Sunday (June 14th), respectively.
You might think that being Taylor Swift means never having a bad day, but think again. When she's feeling down, the nineteen-year-old tells us she often turns to her Myspace friends to cheer her up. "I think that Myspace has helped me out more than I can even verbalize because, yes, there are millions of people and millions of friends on there that help me out so much and they buy albums and stuff, but also from a personal standpoint, when I have a bad day I go on Myspace and read those beautiful, wonderful comments that those people are sending me and it just really helps me out." - Swift is taking time out of her sold-out Fearless tour this week to participate in the CMA Music Festival in Nashville. She will perform on the main stage at LP Field on Sunday (June 14th). Earlier that day, Swift will sign autographs for fans at the Festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. CT in the Nashville Convention Center.
- Swift's Fearless tour plays in Columbia, Maryland tonight (Thursday, June 11th).
- On Saturday (June 13th), Swift opens for Keith Urban in Atlanta.

She wrote most of the songs on the project, including "Dead Flowers," which was the last one to be written and recorded for the CD. Three of the songs were co-written with her boyfriend, Blake Shelton.
- Lambert said, "I think this record is truly the most artistic project I have ever done. I really put my entire being into the making of it. From the writing to the recording to finding the perfect mixture of things I wanted to say. The inspiration was easy to come by, because it's a compilation of everything I have ever listened to and fell in love with. It's not an album where you listen from song to song, it's a state of mind, a way of life. I hope people have as much fun getting to know me through listening as I did getting to know myself in recording it. And maybe it will do just as its title says....start a REVOLUTION."

Feed Jake, He's been a good dog, my best friend right through it all!

I lost one of my best friends in life last week, just a few days before my birthday. He was kind, friendly, fun, had endless energy, even at the old age of 112 and he truly loved every single person that he ever met! He was my 16 year old Golden Retriever named "Jake". What a dog! I know everyone says that about their dog but this dog was really, really special. You see I was going through a terrible divorce and spent many lonely nights away from my kids and family. I saw Jake one day and had to have him the moment I saw him, we just connected. He never left my side for 16 years. What a dog! He was always there waiting for me, no matter what, with unconditional love. He was an incredible friend, guard dog and companion to me. Jake always had a big smile, positive attitude and loved everyone (One of the many lessons in life he taught me!) Jake loved to play ball, shake hands, swim in the pool, go to the lake, ride in the car and eat cookies! What a dog! People fell in love with Jake wherever he went (Because he was so happy and positive) Another lesson he taught me! What a dog!
So...This is to honor one of thee best friends I ever had. Jakey Boy!
I'll miss you buddy!

SMOOTH AS A BABY'S BEHIND

Hey, guys. Want your handsome face to feel as smooth as a baby's behind? The folks at razor-maker Schick know how to keep your kisser smoochable. And since the average male spends 3,000 hours -- that's four months -- shaving by the time he's 80, they offer these seven tips to help you along: - In the summer, shave in the evening. If you scrape those whiskers in the morning, you'll be sorry. Chlorine, salt water, sunscreens and sweat later in the day can be irritable to fresh, sensitive skin.
- Soften your face first. This gives the hair time to swell, making it easier to remove. Shaving in the shower is the ultimate softener.
- Always use shaving cream or lathering soap. These products reduce friction and help you keep track of what areas you've already done.
- Use long, smooth strokes. First go one direction, then another to make sure you've erased any stray, stubborn hairs.
- Rinse the razor regularly. That ensures that the blade won't clog and drag on your delicate skin.
- Make sure your blade is clean and very sharp. Dull blades need more force to cut through hair, yanking it around, irritating skin. Also, you don't need as much hand pressure on a new blade as on an old one. Lighter strokes keep the red, raw syndrome to a minimum.
- Always end your shave with a big splash of cold water to close up pores. Gently pat dry and add aftershave or a moisturizer. Avoid products with alcohol, which sting. Ouch!
HOUSEHOLD ITEMS THAT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE
The most common gadgets in your home can be lifesavers in case of an emergency. Here, from the Red Cross and the Daily Mail newspaper, are seven things you'll need when a crisis strikes: - Paper Bag -- Inhaling and exhaling 10 times while holding it over your nose and mouth can stop a panic attack.
- Juice Glass -- To easily remove an insect from someone's ear, pour a glass full of warm water into it. The bug should float to the surface.
- Milk -- If you knock out a tooth, put it in a container of milk until you can get to your dentist. The milk is a neutral solution that will keep the tooth from drying out, increasing the odds that it can be reinserted.
- Yellow Pages and a Mop -- Touching someone who's been electrocuted can give you a severe shock. To insulate yourself, stand on a phone book, then move the electrical wire away from the victim with a wooden mop handle.
- Bed sheet -- An adult suffering from heatstroke should be wrapped in a sheet soaked in cold water.
- Pantyhose -- To support a broken collarbone, wrap a pair of pantyhose around the person's neck. Tie loosely in a figure 8 at chest level and place the person's hand in the bottom loop.
- Credit Card -- When a bee or wasp stings you, gently use a credit card to scrape the stinger out of the wound, then put ice on the area to reduce swelling.

Brad Paisley will take the stage at Nashville's CMA Music Festival tomorrow (Thursday, June 11th) night at LP Field. He says he appreciates the dedication that fans show for country music and their favorite artists by making the trek to "Music City"."You're talkin' about your most intense fan base and group of people being in the same place at one time once a year. Fan is short for fanatic, and these people are fanatics. I mean, they plan their vacation around that festival." Despite his busy tour schedule this time of year, Paisley makes sure to set aside time for this event. "You know, I love playin' that festival. These are people that are very serious about music. These people, they know every word, they want to hear certain songs, they want to meet you, they want access, and they get it at this. And it's really a great thing to be a part of." - Paisley rounds out the week with three stops on his American Saturday Night tour -- Boston on Friday (June 12th), Hartford on Saturday (June 13th) and Gilford, New Hampshire on Sunday (June 14th).

Miranda Lambert will play two shows on the Sun City Carnival tour with Kenny Chesney later this week before returning to Nashville for CMA Music Festival. She will perform on the main stage at LP Field on Sunday (June 14th) night, but that morning she will meet with her faithful followers at her annual fan club party. Lambert's mother runs her fan club, which the singer says turns into a big party every year. "What we do is we do themes. We do tables and we put people together. My fan club is really weird. They're all friends. They know each other and they travel together and they're awesome. They're like a big ol' family,so they pick their friends off the fan club website and they do these different tables and different themes and they make T-shirts and posters and, like, they are hardcore, so it's really fun!" Lambert says she looks forward to seeing some of her regulars, who have given themselves some pretty clever monikers in tribute to her. "Some of the teams last year, one of them was the 'Hell Raisin' Posse,' and that stuck. Now my mom's like, 'Oh, by the way, Hell Raisin' Posse's comin' to your show!' You know, it's just funny cause one of 'em was called the 'Gun Powder & Lead Girls.' They're really fun, so I like the fact that they get really into it." - Lambert's Sun City Carnival tour dates this week are in Moline, Illinois on Thursday (June 11th) and Chicago on Saturday (June 13th).
New act Love And Theft will release their debut album, World Wide Open, on August 25th. It will include their current Top 25 single, "Runaway." Miley Cyrus and Justin Gaston have reportedly ended their relationship. Although it was recently reported that the couple "said their goodbyes" in preparation for a work-related separation, E! reports that their reign as a couple is over for good, in part due to Cyrus's friendship with ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas. A source told E! News, "She obviously has been hanging out with Nick again a lot, and Justin was cool with it at first, as long as it was just a cool, friendly thing. She didn't cheat, but I guess Nick was trying to get her back the whole time." - Both 16-year-old Cyrus and 20-year-old Gaston have tweeted about their heartbreak. Gaston recently wrote, "Sleep just can't find me tonight. I almost fell asleep. I think I did for like 10 seconds. Obviously it didn't work out. How many tears are in* there? They've gotta run out soon right?" Cyrus, meanwhile, wondered, "Why does saying good-bye hurt so much?"
- Cyrus and Nick Jonas recently began spending time together while working on the song, "Pass It On."
- In other Miley news, fan club members are outraged after overpaying for her concert tickets during an online presale. The New York Daily News reports that Ticketmaster.com posted the wrong seating chart of Long Island's Nassau Coliseum, leading fans to pay top prices for subpar seats. The venue's marketing director said "an apology is in order" for those who bought tickets in misleading locations but conceded there's little that can be done.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are planning to wed
New rumors have surfaced claiming Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are planning to wed. Although tabloids recently claimed the pair had split, London's Daily Mirror reports that the negative gossip is actually responsible for the pair's change in heart. - A source close to the couple told the paper, "Usually it's Brad who wants to talk marriage. But this time it was Angie. An aide sent them all the Press clippings about their 'relationship problems' and Angelina said it was probably best if they married to put an end to the stories. Brad's face lit up -- he was thrilled."
- The source adds that the nuptials will take place in New Orleans.
- In other news, Angelina Jolie graces the cover of Harper's Bazaar, but rather than featuring a interview with the star, the magazine explored why the world is so fascinated with her.
- The writer concluded that having evolved into a humanitarian after unconventional relationships with her brother and Billy Bob Thorton turned her into an "unconventional role model." She also managed to snag the " male seen as the most desired of the tribe" and made the relationship with her children seem "tender, glamorous, and complete."

If you find marriage boring after seven years, it doesn't get any better. Being bored by the seventh wedding anniversary indicates a long, slow descent into marital dissatisfaction. The study by social psychology researchers at Stony Brook University in New York interviewed 123 married couples seven years into their marriage and again nine years later after 16 years. The key finding was that those who were bored with their marriage at year seven experienced a greater decrease in satisfaction at year 16, while those who were not bored at year seven experienced a typically small decrease in satisfaction at year 16. Researchers also found that lower satisfaction at year seven did not lead to increased boredom over the next nine years. Being bored reduces a couple's closeness, and this reduced closeness is what, in turn, causes the reduced satisfaction. TOP FIVE DRIVING ERRORS

We tend to forget that driving is serious business -- Why? We're so busy talking on the cell phone, yelling at the driver in front of us and jotting notes on our calendar. GMAC Insurance has identified the five worst driving errors, the ones that could kill you or someone else. - Multi-tasking -- When you turn on the car, turn off the gadgets. No matter how busy your day is, when you're on the road, focus only on driving. Catch up on other activities later and avoid unnecessary accidents.
- Follow too closely -- Count: One thousand one. One thousand two. That's about two seconds, and that's the cushion that should be between you and the vehicle ahead. It could not only save your bumper, but also your life. Make sure to double or triple that time when the weather is bad or the pavement is slick.
- Failure to yield on a left-hand turn -- Check the flow before you go. Also, look at the street onto which you are turning to make sure there are no vehicles or pedestrians in your path.
- Incorrect merging -- That yield sign means just that: Yield--not stop. Accidents often occur when you are stuck behind a driver entering a highway who interprets yield as a dead stop. Don't be the guilty party. Use the ramp as a means for merging into traffic, not causing it to back up.
- Backing up without looking -- You don't have eyes in the back of your head so look over your shoulder when you put the car in reverse. Remember, objects in the mirror are closer than they appear. Your side and rearview mirrors have a margin of error, so don't rely on them alone. Look over your shoulder before backing up.
A WOMAN'S PLACE

Always fun to bring this one out now and again. The following is from a 1950's Home Economics textbook intended for high school girls, teaching how to prepare for married life. - Have dinner ready -- Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal - on time. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him, and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospects of a good meal are part of the warm welcome needed.
- Prepare yourself -- Take 15 minutes to rest so you will be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your makeup, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh looking. He has just been with alot of work-weary people. Be a little gay and a little more interesting. His boring day may need a lift.
- Clear away the clutter -- Make one last trip through the main part of the house just before your husband arrives, gathering up school books, toys, paper, etc. Then run a dust cloth over the tables. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift, too.
- Prepare the children -- Take a few minutes to wash the children's hands and faces if they are small, comb their hair, and if necessary, change their clothes. They are little treasures and he would like to see them playing the part.
- Minimize the noise -- At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of washer, dryer, dishwasher or vacuum. Try to encourage the children to be quiet. Be happy to see him. Greet him with a warm smile and be glad to see him.
- Some Don'ts -- Don't greet him with problems or complaints. Don't complain if he's late for dinner. Count this as minor compared with what he might have gone through that day.
- Make him comfortable -- Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or suggest he lie down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him. Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soft, soothing and pleasant voice. Allow him to relax and unwind.
- Listen to him -- You may have a dozen things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first.
- Make the evening his -- Never complain if he does not take you out to dinner or to other places of entertainment; instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure, his need to be home and relax.
- The goal -- Try to make your home a place of peace and order where your husband can relax.

Jason Aldean will release his first live performance DVD sometime later this year. The singer filmed a show back in March for the DVD, which he tells us is another career goal he can soon cross off his list. "A DVD is something we've talked about doing for a couple years now, and that was another thing that I didn't want to do too early. I wanted to make sure when we finally decided to do a DVD that we were able to pull it off and make it look and sound the way we wanted it to, and finally the timing was right for it, so we went into Knoxville, did a show there and had a great turnout for the show." Aldean hopes the DVD will justly capture the best of what he does, which he says is live performance."You're puttin' your live show out there for people to see and hear, and for me I feel like that's a big selling tool for me and my show and what I do, so to put that out there for people to see and hear you want it to be right, and it's kind of hard to go out and put an hour-long, hour-and-a-half-long DVD out when you only have one or two singles out, so it's a timing thing and we were finally at a place where we were able to do it." - There is no release date yet for the DVD.
- Aldean's new album, Wide Open, was released in April.
- He will perform at LP Field in Nashville on Friday (June 12th) during the city's CMA Music Festival.
In addition to the assault and harassment charges John Rich already faces filed by former Nashville Star contestant Jared Ashley, Ashley has now added defamation to the suit, according to the Nashville Scene. Ashley seeks unspecified damages after Rich and his attorney issued a recent statement to the media saying that Ashley demanded nearly $3 million to drop the charges, something Ashley says is not true. The Scene also reports that a former security guard for Rich filed an affidavit on behalf of Ashley stating that he saw Rich "start countless verbal altercations at bars." Robert L. Smith was employed by Rich and the MuzikMafia from June of 2004 through April of 2006. - Rich turned himself into Nashville Police on May 28th after Ashley filed charges against him for hitting him in the face while he was visiting Rich's private Nashville nightclub with a mutual friend back in March.
- Rich claimed he had tried to settle with Ashley, but he refused to meet Ashley's alleged demand of $2.9 million.
SIDE NOTES - Ashley's claims of harassment include threatening voice mail messages from Rich and Gone Country winner Sebastian Bach, which he played on the air while visiting a station in Tampa.
- Rich also showed up at one of Ashley's Nashville shows, jumping on stage and threatening the singer. Watch a fan's cell phone video here: http://tinyurl.com/n8mk6d

What your friends are talking about...
Paula Abdul is playing coy about whether or not she'll return to American Idol next season. When asked about her future of the show, Abdul told David Letterman, "I never said [I wasn't returning]. I just said that I'm not sure. "It's called, um, 'negotiating.'" - When Letterman suggested that Simon Cowell was bluffing about potentially leaving, Abdul responded, "You've got it right. He's just trumping me! He has another year left [on his contract]. I don't know why he's doing that."
- Fellow female judge Kara DioGuardi's contract is also up in the air, but Abdul indicated that a feud won't be the reason either one of them might leave. She said, "Kara's great. I don't understand why they do this to women; they love to pit women against each other. Maybe because it's sexier, I don't know. Maybe mud wrestling, the whole thing."
David Carradine's family are seeking help from the FBI and an independent forensic pathologist in the investigation of the the Kill Bill actor's death and are outraged by the media release of leaked photos of him hanged in the closet. Keith Carradine, David's half-brother, has filed papers with the FBI which could lead to the bureau's involvement. Famed forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden will perform an independent autopsy to determine whether another person could have been present at the time of Carradine's death. - David Carradine was found dead on Thursday (June 4th) in a Thailand hotel. Thai police said that he was found naked, hanging in his Bangkok hotel room closet.

- The actor was reportedly found with a rope around his neck and genitals.
- Carradine was the star of the 1970s television series Kung Fu and the more recent Kill Bill movies.
- The actor was married five times and is survived by his wife Annie, who he wed in 2004, and two daughters.

I believe she's in the middle of London, in a flat in London." - Gerry Boyle added, "The way forward now is to talk about where her career goes from here. She's absorbing the fact that America has a huge appetite for her and she's now beginning to believe that yes, indeed, I will be a singer and there will be a recording career beyond it. It's all she ever wanted to do."
- The Associated Press reports that Boyle's financial future is seen as secure, despite losing the talent show crown. Her audition performance has been downloaded nearly 200 million times on the Internet.
- In other Boyle news, the British press is reporting that prior to her breakdown, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore were trying to negotiate a deal for the 48-year-old to perform at their wedding anniversary party.

YET ANOTHER PERSONALITY PROFILE

To determine your personality, check the gift you'd most like to get from the following list: - Candy
- Flowers
- A sweet poem
- Sex
- Dinner/Dancing
- Waffle iron
If you answered: - Candy -- It means that you are a sweet person who enjoys traditional gifts and hopefully likes to share. Or you're a selfish chocoholic who values a sugar high over everything, even true love.
- Flowers -- It means that you love the beauty of nature, the scent of flowers and appreciate this timeless romantic gesture. Or you get some twisted joy out of watching vegetation wither and die.
- A Sweet Poem -- It means that you're a hopeless romantic, a cultured person who recognizes the power and beauty of the written word. Or you're used to cheap gifts and like to pass yourself off as a cultured person who recognizes the power and beauty of the written word.
- Sex -- It means that you are a passionate soul, a free spirit who is not afraid to express your sexuality with another consenting adult and feel that the physical side of love can be meaningful and beautiful. Or you're a filthy degenerate who is no better than a rutting animal living solely for one carnal experience after another.
- Dinner/Dancing -- It means that you enjoy the company of that special someone and the romantic setting of fine cuisine and candlelight. Or you're easy to please and probably willing to sell your body for food and a few quick turns around the dance floor.
- Waffle Iron -- It means that you're a practical person who believes those that you can actually use. Or you have absolutely no idea of what gift-giving is all about and probably have some sort of deviant sexual fetish involving kitchen appliances.
WHAT'S A MOTHER TO DO?

In a recent survey, iVillage asked, "What was the best advice your mom ever gave you?" - "You aren't getting anything done just sitting there. You've got to get up and go get it -- a job, success, a glass of soda, whatever -- take charge and just do it!" "Appreciate all the blessings that you receive in life, and don't bemoan the things you can't have."
- "Get an education, once you have it, no one can take it away from you."
- "If a guy really wants to talk to you, he'll call."
- "You can't change someone who doesn't want to change."
- "Never count on a man being around forever."
- "If you settle for less that's all you're going to get."
- "Don't marry the man you can live with - marry the man you can't live without."
- "Stay out of the sun!"
3 SIMPLE RULES FOR TALKING TO A MAN

Ladies, want your guy to really listen? Glamour offers up these 3 simple rules: - Whenever possible, start with the punch line, or the end of the story, then go back and fill in more detail (that's more detail, not every excruciating one). Men focus better when they know what it is they're listening to. Don't start with: "You won't believe what happened at work today. I'm in my office, and I get an e-mail from Jerry saying something funny happened last night and do I have a minute..." Instead, open with the climax: "Jerry told me he wants to have sex with me."
- Go ahead, exaggerate. "This dinner will be a complete disaster unless you buy fresh garlic" is a more likely winner than "Oh, and pick up some garlic." There's nothing like the image of a FEMA-level catastrophe to focus our attention on your shopping list.
- Use verbal cues. In the midst of a meandering conversation, announce the arrival of the vital info-nugget with, "and here's the important part, Hugh, the really, really important part." Or even better, invent a slangy catchphrase, like the ones they use on ESPN: "OK, hoss, the keeper is coming at you." Add a physical signifier, too -- perhaps a tender touch on the arm or, better still, a strong, promising palm somewhere else.
How To Deal With A Bad Boss:
Are you suffering from a "bad boss"? In The Worst Case Scenario Survival Handbook: Work, authors Joshua Piven and David Borgenicht describe some of these bosses and how to deal with them. - The Control Freak micromanages every move you make. How to Deal: Bombard this person with emails, reports and meetings. This might overwhelm him and throw off his controlling behavior.
- The Buddy tries to solicit personal information and seeks inclusion as though you are best of friends. How to Deal: Include this person but keep your distance. Invent a fictional hobby, extend invitations you know she can't accept, and avoid hugs.
- The Workaholic has sacrificed his life for his job and expects the same from you. How to Deal: Let this person know there is life outside of work. Discuss family, friends and hobbies at every opportunity.
- The Teller of Bad Jokes always has one for you and it's always bad. How to Deal: Be prepared for the painful punchline and feign amusement. Then change the subject.
- The Supreme Delegator takes all of the credit and none of the blame and essentially is setting up others to take the fall. How to Deal: In writing, advise on all key decisions and plans, but be prepared for a denial of knowledge if anything goes wrong.
- The Yes/No Manager could care less about useful information or discussions and simply wants every decision boiled down to "yes" or "no." How to Deal: Present summaries with several alternatives for action. If asked for a recommendation, give it orally.
- The Passive-Aggressive Boss procrastinates, complains about not enough time, and then blames others for the bad job. How to Deal: Involve others in projects as much as necessary so that you have witnesses.
- The Indecision Maker needs info from many different sources before making any sort of "independent" decision. How to Deal: Present any question as if you've taken an informational survey of any key employees who might have a stake in the problem.
- The All-Business-is-Personal Manager can't separate business and personal life. How to Deal: Make your work time enjoyable, one bad incident could ruin your work relationship. In the long run, though, your nightmare could turn into a sweet dream. That toxic supervisor could be the motivating factor for you to make a change for the better.
