The Bullhead City Elementary School District will hold a kindergarten round-up to register students and inform parents about what the youngsters should know before starting school. The 3 hour events will include a test and worksheets on writing and recognition skills to help parents to determine what they should be working with their kids on. Parents will walk away with goody bags filled with alphabet sheets, worksheets and books.
The feeling is once parents know what their kids are capable of they will better able to help them prepare for kindergarten.
One of the best ways to prepare is to read to your children 10 min per night....
What skills are expected of your kids to be successful in kindergarten?
Language skills - They should be able le to speak in complete sentences using grammar that is standard for their age. Small motor skills – color, cut glue and write Large motor skills - which prepare kids for gym class – any activity that helps children improve their coordination and perception. Simple math – Being able to recite their numbers in order. Alphabet – Many schools now teach reading in kindergarten so knowing the alphabet is very helpful. The children also need to know their full name address, phone number and parent’s names. Knowing shapes and colors Exposure to music – Sing and listen to music together Develop their imagination – Play what-if games, make up ridiculous stories and welcome those invisible friends into your home.
Where and when are the Round-ups and registrations held??
Coyote Canyon & Mountain View in the cafeterias 4-7pm on Wednesday, April 2nd Diamondback and Sunrise in the cafeterias 4-7 pm on Thursday, April 3rd.
Children must be 5 years old by August 31, 2008 to register. Parents also must bring child’s birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residence, like a utility bill.

Right side part -- you are practical and orderly. You think in a rational way and are willing to work for what you want.
Left side part -- you are a non -conformist. You are creative, artistic and dependent.
Middle part -- you're the center of the road type of person. You always look for balance, emotionally and politically.
Far right or far left -- you are outspoken and courageous. You don't care what people say or think about you.
Changing part -- do you switch your part monthly, weekly or even daily? You are spontaneous and constantly strive for new adventures.

No part -- you are a carefree person; very spontaneous, happy-go-lucky and relaxed. You have a wide range of hobbies and friends.
