Britney Spears is vacationing in Costa Rica with Mel Gibson. Gibson, a former Malibu neighbor of Spears is hosting the singer and her father at his island home, where they will relax with Gibson and his wife Robin. Paparazzi are hailing the trip as a break-through in cost-cutting, as it will allow them to photograph two train wrecks at the same location...A Fort Worth, TX man trying to scratch an itch on his back decided the best method would be to use a revolver. Jorge Espinal, 44, was drinking beer and playing cards with friends around 3 am when he got an itch that he just couldn't scratch. He went in the other room and grabbed the first thing he could find, the revolver. Of course it went off and Espinal was rushed to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Just a case of natural thinning of the heard if you ask me. Either that or proof that some sort of testing, ESPECIALLY IQ testing should be done in order to purchase a fire arm...
An immigrant family left a 23-month-old boy in the Vancouver airport and learned he was missing only after being contacted by flight attendants during the next leg of their trip. The mix-up occured when the child's parents and grandparents, travelling seperately thought the other had the child. The whole misadventure will be chronicled in the upcoming film "Foster Home Alone" starring Micauley Caulkin.
and finally...From the department of "I've always wanted to do that...Cincinatti Reds outfielder Ken Griffey, Jr. is apparently still having fun at the ball park. The future Hall of Famer apparently owed team mate Josh Fogg $1500 from a wager between the two. Instead of simply writing a check to Fogg, Griffey had National City Bank deliver 60 cases containing 2500 PENNIES each to Fogg's locker at the ball park. No word as to how Fogg carted off the 150,000 pennies...
